Abbott NW Hospital MRI Scaffold Minneapolis

Abbott Northwestern Hospital was preparing to install a new MRI unit on the fourth floor. Weighing approximately 10,000 pounds, the machine was too large and heavy to be transported through the building. With no interior access route, a carefully planned exterior solution was needed to complete the delivery. 

Infinity Scaffold designed and installed a heavy-duty system scaffold landing platform. Situated directly outside the fourth floor, existing windows were removed to be able to seamlessly roll the machine into the building. A crane lifted the MRI Machine onto the platform, and crews transferred it through the opening and to its permanent location in the hospital. Careful planning and precise installation and execution allowed for the successful delivery of this large machine while minimizing disruptions to the hospital.
